PROJECT: SR 55 (I-5 to SR 91)

CLIENT: Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)

SCOPE: This project is a 7.5 mile freeway corridor improvement project which will provide lane continuity along this segment of the SR 55 Freeway between I-5 and SR 91 freeways.   The addition of one general purpose lane in each direction and increase weaving distances between interchanges will add capacity and improve freeway operations and safety while optimizing for future forecasted traffic.  OPTITRANS is tasked to analyze necessary design exceptions to Caltrans highway standards being proposed with the project build alternatives and to prepare the Design Standard Decision Document (formerly Design Exception Fact Sheets) to document the design exceptions to the preferred alternative.  OPTITRANS is also tasked to perform the analysis and coordination of the various utilities anticipated to be impacted by the project improvements and contribute to the Project Report with preliminary utility plans.
