PROJECT: The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Taxiway C Extension Project (PS&E)
CLIENT: Los Angeles World Airports
SCOPE: The project scope consisted of an extension of the Sepulveda Tunnel that passes below the runways of LAX. The project provided for a continuous Taxiway C and an airport service road over Sepulveda Boulevard (State Route 1). In addition, the tunnel ventilation building was partially removed and reconstructed, as well as upgraded to accommodate the increased capacity needed to ventilate the tunnel. The contract documents were approved by both Caltrans, City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering Structural Engineering Division, and the Los Angeles World Airports. Responsible for traffic handling plans, detour plans, construction details, and facilities design.
