PROJECT: I-405 Improvement Project (PA/ED)

CLIENT: Orange County Transportation Authority

SCOPE: This project is a study of 16-mile highway project that adds a general purpose lane in both directions to improve the freeway mainline and interchanges in northern Orange County from north of SR-55 to I-605 to reduce congestion and improve lane continuity through the corridor. The Preferred Alternative, build Alternative 3 in the draft phase of PA/ED, includes a phased approach of the addition of an Express Lane component to be managed with the existing HOV lanes.  The procurement of the design-build contractor is overlapped with the final documentation of the PA/ED phase.  Responsible for the delivery of the engineering technical documents including the Draft Project Report, Modified Access Report, Fact Sheet Design Exceptions to Mandatory and Advisory Design Standards and various alternative analyses that involved cost estimation, technical white papers, and utility/right-of-way impact studies.
